Since 2009 China seems to face serious labour shortage problem, most factories claim they have less workers than ever,this is fact, and also cause damage to hotel products industry in Yangzhou, one of the most important production base of world hotel amenities.
Take slipper factory A for example, one year before there were 200 workers on production line,however, after lunar new year 2010,more than a half of them didnot return to their position,so factory management try their best to recruit new ones,when they go out, they find other factories are also looking for new workers.when new people recruited, training shall be provided.So,for at least 3 monthes, the production was not stable, orders came in,most of them were made by small individule factories,quality hard to be controlled,risks of complain increase.
Labour problem also add production cost.As living expenses increase, people want to have higher salary to maintain a stable living standard.Industry workers are most likely to request for more money,if management have no other ways to control running cost, the final product price will be high to international distributors.
